Snow Globe With Attitude
Carmen works nights on a hospital floor where the phones ring at three in the morning and the coffee machine holds a grudge. By December she had developed one fantasy: a place where nothing beeped. She found it in a snow globe: a dome of deep black sky pricked with stars, a small nativity in cream silhouette under a stable roof, a bright star above, the words Oh Holy Night in script, and below it all a band of tan leopard print and glitter, as if a safari had been invited to the stable.
She set it on the nightstand, shook it once and watched the glitter drift through the dark like snow falling over a hillside. The star shone. The figures stood still. Nobody paged her. "This," she whispered, "is the only nativity that stays on schedule." She shook it again, because it was working. Her roommate wandered in and asked why she was talking to a dome. Carmen said it was therapy. Her roommate asked how much it cost. Carmen said less than a session and with a lot more leopard. By the third shake she was asleep in her scrubs.
That is what a good snow globe can do after a night of chaos. This one is calm, dark and warm, a little quiet theater of black, gold and cream that sits in the lamplight and does not ask you to speak. The leopard band gives it a wink, and the script gives it a heart. It fits on a bedside table, a break-room shelf or a mantel beside a family set. Carmen says it is the only thing in her house that sleeps better than she does, and she is trying to catch up.
Where It Lives
Put it where it can catch lamplight, because the stars look best with a little warm glow behind them. A nightstand is the natural home: a few slow shakes before bed, a short silence while the glitter drifts, then lights out. It also fits on a mantel beside a family nativity, on a church office desk or on the shelf above a piano. Because the band at the bottom is bold, it holds its own next to a candle. Turn it so the script faces the room and the cream silhouettes read clearly from across the way, even in the dark.
Gift Ideas
Give it to the nurse, the night-shift baker or anyone who sees four in the morning and says hello. Give it to the choir member who knows every verse and sings harmony in the car. Give it to a grandmother who already owns a manger and is secretly ready for something with a little leopard print. Tuck in a note that reads, "Peace, on demand." It is the one gift in the box that will never ring, buzz or ask for a password.

Poster/Canvas Care
Care Instructions: Poster
Keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades ink over time. Hang it in a dry room, away from steam and damp. Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth, and don’t spray or wipe it with liquid. For the longest life, put it under glass in a frame. Handle it by the edges, and store it flat or rolled loosely, never creased.
Care Instructions: Canvas
Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat vents and damp rooms. Dust the surface with a soft, dry cloth or a dry brush. Don’t use water, sprays or cleaners on the print. Hang it on a secure wall mount, and avoid pressing on the front of the canvas. If it’s stored, keep it upright and wrapped in a clean cloth, away from anything that could dent the front.
