Biscuit is a gray cat with strong opinions about presents. Every year he picks the largest gift under the tree, lies on it and refuses to move until someone offers a snack. So when Tamsin rolled out this white paper, covered in blush pink, mustard, dusty blue and sage leaves and feathery branches, Biscuit sat up, tail swishing, and stared. It looked, he was fairly certain, like a forest. Possibly a forest of snacks.

Tamsin wrapped a gift for her mother, a scented candle, and the cat inspected every seam. He pawed at a pink leaf. He chased a mustard branch across the carpet. He tried to eat a blue one and learned, immediately, that wrapping paper is not a vegetable. "It is not real, Biscuit," Tamsin said, but Biscuit had already decided that the box was a tree and that he was its rightful owner. He climbed on top, curled up and made himself look exactly like a very large, very smug gift.

On Christmas Day her mother opened the present and found a candle, a note and a single gray hair. Biscuit was delighted. Blush pink, mustard and dusty blue leaves on a clean white ground make this a soft, gentle roll, and it pairs with ribbon in almost any shade. Washing

  • Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle.
  • Turn it inside out and wash with like colors.
  • Use mild detergent. Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.
  • Wash dark colors and new pieces separately the first few times.

Drying

  • Tumble dry on low, or hang it to dry.
  • Take it out while it’s still slightly damp to cut down on wrinkles.
  • Don’t dry it on high heat.
  • Iron on low heat, and don’t dry clean.

Keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades ink over time. Hang it in a dry room, away from steam and damp. Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth, and don’t spray or wipe it with liquid. For the longest life, put it under glass in a frame. Handle it by the edges, and store it flat or rolled loosely, never creased.

Care Instructions: Canvas

Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat vents and damp rooms. Dust the surface with a soft, dry cloth or a dry brush. Don’t use water, sprays or cleaners on the print. Hang it on a secure wall mount, and avoid pressing on the front of the canvas. If it’s stored, keep it upright and wrapped in a clean cloth, away from anything that could dent the front.
